In Ribera del Duero we have a continental mediterranean climate characterized by soft and dry summers and cold winters with a huge thermal amplitude during the seasons.
Rainfall normally take place at the end of the autumn and during winter and spring.
Our vineyards from Aldehorno, Fuentenebro and Moradilla de Roa are located in an altitude between the 910 and the 1050 meters, which make them amongst the highest vineyards of the A.O. Ribera del Duero.
This altitude gives our wines a highest acidity, produced by the thermal amplitude (difference between the highest and lowest temperature) that is used to be registered.
Furthermore, the cluster ripening is slower and more progressive than in lower altitudes.
We have different kind of soils:
Limestone with gravel surface: it provides a good alcoholic content, low acidity and an excellent quality to our wines.
Clay soil: It has a better nutrient and water retentive capacity. It gives a more structure and elegance to our wines because of the fact that the grapes’ growth cycles are longer and a higher content of polyphenols during the ripening is reached.
The origin of the quality of our wines lies in the care given to our vineyards during the whole year. We select the best grapes by crop thinning, process also known as premature harvest after what we do a fine harvest.
Once the harvest is finished, the elaboration of our wines is made in temperature- controlled vats in which we do pre-fermentation macerations for 4/6 days.
Once the fermentations are finished, our wines aged mainly in French oak barrels. Our barrel room has 500 barrels that we renovate each three years.
The Tradition Line is the history of our family. A family that has always been dedicated to the land, the vineyard, the field and the wine. This history started with our grandparents from the Spanish province of Burgos. They were always working in the vineyards, day after day, from dawn to dusk. Thanks to this effort and dedication that we still maintain, we can enjoy excellent wines.

They have a more personal, different and characteristic nuances.
Both are one a kind wines with the stamp of our great winemaker. In these wines quality and uniqueness are the priority.
This is our first rosé, 100% Tempranillo whose grapes come from the same vineyard, 30 year old vines planted at an altitude of 1000 m. which gives our rosé a great acidity.
Buy wineWe are very proud of our white wine Valdrinal de Santamaria 100% Verdejo that we elaborate in the A.O. Rueda. The character of this wine, representative of the A.O. Rueda, can be defined because of the following three elements: the grape, indigenous of this area, the continental climate and its soils. The delicate way of the elaboration of the wine make us obtain a high-quality wine. The harvest is made just at the best ripening time of our grapes. All of the process is mechanized to avoid must oxidation and it is done at night so that the grapes arrive at the winery at a low temperature (between 10- 15 degrees). The must is then fermented in stainless steel vats after what it is macerated on its lees for three months and then bottled. As a result, we have a straw yellow color, characteristic of the A.O. with fresh and fruity scents both on the nose and on the palate.
Wine elaborated with grapes from the variety Verdejo. It has a very fruity and fresh character. On the palate it is unctuous and has a pleasant entry, with a very well- integrated acidity. It is the perfect match to all kind of pasta, rice, veggies and fish plates.
